A calendar entry is ephemeral — it fires and it’s gone. A date stored on the contact is persistent: you see the story of the relationship every time you open the card. Other Dates keeps the two in sync, so you enter each date once, on the person it belongs to, and the calendar takes care of remembering.
Birthdays are intentionally left to iOS, which already shows them. Other Dates is for all the other dates.
How it works
1 · Add dates in Contacts
Edit any contact, add a date, give it your own label — friendiversary, gotcha day, retirement.
2 · Pair a list with a calendar
Pick one contact list and one calendar. Sync every label, or only the ones you choose.
3 · Let it run
Edits to contacts flow to the calendar automatically. Every event links back to the person's card.
